Beswick Engineering: Optional O-Ring Materials

Beswick fittings are supplied with Buna-N O-rings retained in a precision machined groove. We install the O-rings at our factory, saving you the assembly costs incurred with gasket style fittings. Buna-N satisfies the requirements of most applications. We offer optional O-ring materials when the application involves temperature extremes and/or chemical reactivity. Optional O-rings include: Ethylene-Propylene (EPDM), Flourocarbon (Viton®), Silicone and Teflon®. To specify an optional O-ring add the material code from the chart below as a suffix to the Part Number.

For example; to order the popular Beswick MLAS-1012 elbow fitting with silicone O-rings specify MLAS-1012-S. (Other optional O-rings such as Fluorosilicone, Tetrafluoroethylene-propylene (AFLAS®), Perfluoroelastomer (Chemraz® and Kalrez®) and Neoprene are available on some products. Consult the Beswick factory for advice on O-ring materials.
